“War Seen Through the Eyes of Soldier Artists” Lecture

  • Prince George County Regional Heritage Center 6406 Courthouse Rd Prince George, Virginia 23875 United States (map)

The practice of embedding soldier artists with America’s fighting forces began during World War I and continued through the decades-long global war on terror. "War Seen Through the Eyes of Soldier Artists", presented by former Command Historian for the U.S. Quartermaster Corps Steven E. Anders, Ph.D., explores how soldier artists immerse themselves into their assigned environments and serve as documentarians, recording wartime maneuvers, solider experiences, and the world around them. The remarkable artwork represented is from the collection of the National Museum of the United States Army.
